dont waste your money on synthetic...use regular. Talked to service manager at my dealer and this is what he recommended as well.

Motorcraft® 5W-20 is a premium motor oil blended using synthetic and mineral oil base stocks manufactured via a process called “hydrocracking”. This process rearranges the molecules, freeing them of impurities and making them more durable and resistant to breakdown. Motorcraft® 5W-20 dramatically outperforms and outprotects conventional motor oils. Specially tailored additives are included to:
- Reduce friction
- Minimize engine deposits and wear
- Protect against high temperature oxidation and low temperature thickening, rust, corrosion and foaming

I also use the Motorcraft 5-20 blend. For one thing, it's easy to buy the oil and appropriate filter at the local Wal-Mart, and the price for premium oil and filter is cheaper than paying some quick change guy to dump in the oil of the day.

Oh yeah, and making sure everything is done right.....priceless.

Designed, engineered and recommended by Ford Motor Company

Motorcraft® 5W-20 motor oil dramatically outperforms and outprotects conventional motor oils. It meets the stringent WSS-M2C153-H Ford Motor Company specification to give the balance of engine durability and performance and to maximize fuel economy while reducing emissions. Due to its low volatility, low oil consumption is maintained. What this means for the environment is a motor oil that pollutes less.

I agree with jansen1.
Mobil1.

My son-in-law is a ford Truck mechanic. He rebuilds engines and races his '03 Lightening and swears by Mobil1. My daughter, on the other hand, races Chevy's and swears by Amsoil. Both use 5w-30. Here in Minnesota where the temperature often hits 20 below and sometimes -30, the choice for my '04 F-150 and wife's '04 Saturn VUE (250hp Honda) is 0w-20. BTW, both engine manuals call for 5w-20. Also both dealers carry Mobile1. Saturn says 0w-20 is fine. Mobil replacement for 5w-20 is 0w-20; it is printed on the container. Amsoil full synthetic should also be fine.

Protect your 35K investment with the best. Besides, the Motorcraft OEM brake pads, rotors, and stock General tires are crap! I wonder about their oil. Many here have already replaced pads, rotors, and tires with quality aftermarket products. Not sure about the oil filter. There; my .02 cents worth!
