Question To all Ext and Crew cab owners!

I have narrowed it down to the F-150 5.4L which got the most replies of happy campers. I am now moving to the space problem. If i go with the Crew cab i will spend more $$$ but i do want to know if the Ext cabs are worth the bargain.

Good site with good guys and girls. Look to hear more from me for a long time after this next purchase!

I am 6'3" and sit comfortably in the back seat as long as the front seats are even with the middle portion. Also with the S-Cab you get a longer bed, that extra foot helps out quite a bit. The only disadvantage I see is you have to open the front door for the rear passangers to enter or exit the vehicle.

F350 555 you can’t go wrong with whatever 2004 F150 you choose. I went with the Screw because I wanted maximum interior room. Get the one you think will have adequate room. Just remember, if you go to big you can always find something to put in, but if you go to small, oh well.

Well, in all honesty. Ask yourself, what are you going to carry most?

Kids and people, then go Screw; If you carry mostly lumber and drywall go for a Scab.

I've got two kids (in car seats) and they will get only bigger, so I got a screw. The extra foot of bed room would of been nice a couple of times, but the convenience of 4 full doors has outweighed the Xtra-short bed.

Get the screw if you can afford it. It holds it's resale way better than the supercab.

I have a Supercab. Although now that I look back on it, I kinda sorta wish I got the Supercrew. Like everyone else said, evaluate what you move the most. At the time, I bought the Supercab because it was cheaper than a Supercrew and I wanted the extra bed space. But I didn't stop to think that I've got a perfectly good utility trailer if I really needed a lot more space.

You won't be disappointed regardless of the cab configuration you choose though.

If you ALWAYS have passengers in the back, I'd go with the Screw, for us it was the Scab and we couldn't be more pleased! Twelve thousand miles and counting.

I'd go with the SCrew and bed extender. That's what I drive.

I infinitely prefer the looks and longer bed of the Supercab! I find the rear seat room more than adequate for most people, even adults, and the door latches are so functionally well placed that I don't realize any effort in opening them for someone! It's just an automatic, no stress motion!

The Supercab looks and is more of a TRUCK. The Supercrew is a grocery getter Explorer with a tail! At least the Avalanche coverts to a big bed!

(I actually do like the Supercrew too and if I was doing a LOT of LONG hauls with 4 people then I might have opted for that but I really do love the SC doors, they're just cool)! When we pack up gear to go hunting you really do appreciate the extra bed space and nobody's yet complained about the ride in back-just the opposite!

How do you like your Maxxis tires?

Oh by the way get a screw. Way more room... you can never have enough room in a truck.

Ihave a supercab, but I wanted the extra bed space for my toys (motorcycles). I rarely have extra people in mine but when I do I have the extra space for them. Also they dont make a flareside in the supercrew. My suggestion would be to weigh the reasons you need each and make your decision on the facts of what makes the most sense for what your needs are. Good luck and happy hunting.

Scab or SCrew

I really like the look of the Flareside SCab and I prefer the longer bed - but reality for me is that I have three kids (two pre-teens) and I needed to be able to haul everyone comfortably more than I needed to be able to haul stuff.

I am not a contractor or anything, so it's only Home Depot on the weekends or light load for me, so the SCrew was the way to go.

Either way, the 04 F150 is an awesome truck!

Good luck and I hope you get a great deal!!! There are good sales and rebates going on now.

The Extended Cab is the better offer for haulers and i do believe it is the way to go. Reply if this is wrong for me. Heavy tower and no kids!
