Here's a question for anyone, though: (This is from Attorney General's Office)
Situations When Refunds or Replacements Are Not Given
Be aware that the manufacturer does not have to make a refund or replace the vehicle if:
The problem does not substantially impair the use or market value of the vehicle; or,
The problem is the result of abuse, neglect or unauthorized modifications or alterations of the vehicle.
Refund and Replacement Eligibility

Or does the mod have to be related to the problem/concern for Repurchase?
Yellow,
I'm no lawyer, but, I don't see a problem with the exhaust mod. That's like saying some guy blew a head gasket, but Ford won't replace it because he put on vent visors.
Good luck, and hoping the best for ya...

My Friend i would say : enough is enough ,and tell your dealer / ford rep That u demand a total new rear end no piddling around trying to fix it anylonger or that you will Paint something on all sides that the People in your county will sure to see (LEMON)
Yellow, there is some law which for the life of me I can't remember the name, which says that an aftermarket item such as our Borla's can not void your warranty. Basically, the jist behind this law is that the manufacturer CANNOT prove that one thing i.e. your Borla or grille is the cause of your problem.
Don't let them pull that crap.
I'll see if I can find the name of that law. Maybe someone on the forum beat me to the punch if they know it off the top of their heads.

Thanx, Clem.
I think mental is in the cards if this doesn't get resolved this go around. I also plan on calling the Attorney General to see what I can do about the fuel economy on the truck with regards to the Lemon Law as well.
I took a trip this weekend. Cruise was on 70 most of the way with the exception of a little town here and there.
24.475 gal - $42.07 - 320.4 mi = "A Small Fortune"
(13.09 mpg)

13.09 MPG?? What's wrong with that? That'll get better once the rear end loosens up more...
Also, folks are getting much better than that here without having to let the rearend loosen up more. I can't keep waiting for the rearend to loosen up considering they have fixed it 2wice and it is going in again on Wednesday for the rearend being bad.

I think your gas mileage and repair history substanrially impair the use, especially with current and sustained high gas prices nation wide as well as potential resale value of the vehicle.
The problem is the result of abuse, neglect or unauthorized modifications or alterations of the vehicle.
---
Doubt they can prove any abuse or neglect on your end, and really doubt the exhaust would be considered an unauthorized attrubuting modification.
Just my 2 cents yellow, good luck and give em' hell

Well, got the truck back from the dealer today.
"There is nothing wrong with your truck. The howl is normal and is a characteristic of the trucks". I asked "Even though you admittedly put the ring and pinions in wrong (which, by the way started the howl) you say it's still normal?" They said "Yes, we did put them in wrong the first time and then fixed them."
The howl didn't start until after they messed up and now there is nothing that can be done right now. They said there might be a fix later in the years but nothing right now.
What the (&%!!!
Screwbuilder - is this a characteristic of the trucks?
ANYBODY????

I hate to hear of your troubles and I can empathize with your frustration. Seems pretty simple to me looking at it from the outside in. You as a consumer are either an advocate/reference for the dealer you are having issues with or an enemy. I really don't tolerate much crap from vendors. You have a lot more power than you might think - and there are steps you can take to increase that power.
Negative advertiseing against the dealer is probably the most effective since it impacts their ability to sell product.
Picketing - don't laugh - if you were a prospective buyer and saw someone picketing the store would you be wary of doing business with them?
Better Business Bureau - register a complaint and negatively impact their rating.
Don't quit, and don't compromise!
Good luck and keep us posted!
