If everything is as you say it is then it appears you have a case of the dealer not wanting to do anything else because they will not get reimbursed for fixing the same problem twice. You work at a dealership – you should know the game.

I would recommend you find out who the Regional Service Rep is for your dealership – and this is harder to do that one might expect. Call the zone office and just start asking for the Reps name, address, or whatever. Then simply document the situation (verbally or in a letter) and humbly ask for the Reps help. Be sure to drop the BBB and Bill Ford a copy if you send a letter. He will never see it but that action does usually result with one of his assistants contacting the zone office or the dealership asking them to at least review the matter.

If this fails then I think arbitration is an option – I have not look in my 04 Owners Manual for this procedure but I know in a GM car I once owned the process for arbitration was in the Owners Manual.

I would love to tell the board the story of when I got GM to buy back a car from me. Based on this experience I can tell you first hand that getting something done after the dealer has washed their hands of a problem is painful and extremely time consuming. For me it was a 7 month process but once I finally got to arbitration it was a slam dunk and the General was not pleased.

Good luck!
