What's the flashing LED on my dash?

I've noticed a red LED that flashes every few seconds when my truck is locked (assuming it's only when it's locked). I looked out my window and I saw it flashing. I like it because it would make a 'bad guy' think it's an alarm. There's no factory alarm I know of...so what is it's purpose?

Unrelated, but....
I paid my insurance the other day. I just got the truck a few days ago. For full coverage and fairly low deductables (250 comprehensive and 500 collision) the cost for 6 months is $364!
(I'm 34 and male by the way) That's much cheaper than I thought it would be! They said (State Farm) that the safety features, crash rating and anti-theft stuff helped a lot.

That sucks
I am a 33 year old male and have had state farm since 1986. I have NEVER had a speeding ticket or a claim against state farm. My insurance is dang 1200 / year for my new F150.
My best guess is that becuase I live in the city of Atlanta it is a lot higher than the country folks pay.

Crap! That's up there. Don't know if this factors in more on the savings, but I'm married and have 2 other cars with them. I know I get a multi-car discount, but it can't be THAT much. Never claimed any repairs with them either (in the many years I've been with them. I don't know why it's so cheap for me, but I took it over and they looked at it, so they know what it is for sure.

It has so much to do with where you live...in Colorado I pay only 631 per year, but get certain discounts. I am young, 24, and also have a clean record...I think certain salesmen will give you different deals too...I am moving to Michigan next week, anyone know how that state compares in insurance rates to others?

All you State Farmer's
Thanks for paying my salary!
There are several discounts that are available that both of you had mentioned. Accident Free, Multi-Line, Multi-Car, etc. If you are young enough, there is a good student discount with a B+ average, or better.
Unfortunately, it is also based on where you live, how far you drive to/from work, how many miles you put on your vehicle/year, etc.
State Farm has a REALLY broad policy. Some of these fly-by-night companies don't, that's why they are cheaper. It's worth the extra dough if you ask me...then again, nobody did.

You would probably be 25% higher than that in Ontario.
