31 miles per gallon! ---- I GOT THE WORLDS BEST GAS MILEAGE!!!! 31MPG 31 MPG 31MPG!!!

My truck got 31 miles per gallon on a trip last week!

HONESTLY--

Maybe I should mention that we had to have it towed for 175 miles with the key it with the odo racking up miles without the motor being on!

This is the truth!

CHEATER!

haha, nice way to bump up gas mileage though. i wouldn't really call it "gas mileage" though since you weren't burning any gas. i get 31 MPG when I first fill up because the station where I often fill is on top of a hill so I coast downhill for about a mile. i guess we all have our tricks to make it feel like we are not driving guzzlers that drain our wallets.

The best I've seen on a temporary basis was 22 mpg on a relatively flat road, cruising along at 40 right after filling it. Average for me now is 12.8, which isn't bad. I bought it in October and only have 1200 miles on it, so I fill the tank about once a month. Sure it sucks down gas at a dinosaur depleting rate, but I'm probably using less than the average Honda Civic owner

Iknow this isn't a political forum but I couldnt help respond to Wstand. if I remember correctly it is the republicans who cheated some 4 years ago in florida. if there had been a complete recount bush would have never had been elected into office. but because of his political conections in that state bush was able to cheat his way into office. I am not usually a real political person. I consider myself to be neutral but I remember that election all too clearly and it was the republicans not the democrats who cheated. although to be honest I don't really trust any politicion.

As far as I recall, the whole Florida problem was due to some dude named Chad. They called him 'dangling Chad' of 'hanging Chad'. Sounds like a personal problem to me.

Ummm...back on topic, I just refilled mine and reset the computer. It got 20 mpg for the first 10 miles until I got into the hilly areas. Even after a few trips, it's around 14.5 now...way more than I expected. My '01 Expy settled in on 13 mpg and didn't budge after that.

I've had the truck for almost five months now and only have 1300 miles on it. Maybe it's not quite broken in. Initially it was in the mid-tens, then eleven and change. That last tank got 13, and this one looks like it'll do better. Considering where I live, that's good. The F-150 is starting to get comparable mileage to my Jeep Liberty under the same conditions.
