Vent Visor & Mud Guard Questions
I'm in the market again for some more truck accessories, but I'm having a devil of a time finding exactly what I want. I figured I'd post my questions here and get some non-vendor answers so that I can finally make some decisions.
Vent Visors - I'm looking for the snap-in type for my FX4 supercab. I just can't talk myself into liking the type that adhere with 3M tape. I've found a bunch of manufacturers that make the snap-in type, but I question how well they perform. Do they actually fit snugly or will they work themselves loose over time? Do they effect the seal of the cab or cause an increase in noise? I like the quietness of my cab and don't want to give it up.
Mud Guards - I apologize for bringing mud guards up again. I have read many posts about them so far, but all I managed to do was confuse myself even more about what type will actualy fit my truck. Picking the right guards based on 2x4 vs 4x4, running board types, wheel molding, etc., has proven enough to stump me. So what guards will actually fit my truck? It is a black FX4 supercab 4x4 with factory installed bright tubular running boards, a styleside bed, and my wheel moldings are the grey ones that I guess are standard.

Try Weathertech.com. They have just what you're looking for. They snap into the window crevice and stay snug.
They work, I had them in my Jeep for five years and installed them in my '04 FX-4 this past Saturday. They do take a couple weeks to mold themselves into the crevice.
I don't know about the mud flaps, I plan on going by the dealer on Wednesday.
Good luck!

Go with the Weathertech In channel visors. I just put them in a couple of days ago and they are fantastic and I notice no loss in cabin quietness. I have some pics of them in my gallery.
Mud Flaps/Guards
After posting a few times about them I finally found some I could deal with at a local auto shop. I chose to put the flat black mud flaps on because I just like the look better (they have a molded inlay of a mountain range on them). I'll post some pics of the mudflaps soon since I just finished putting them on an it got dark.
If your looking for the molded mud guards just stop by your dealer and tell them what your looking for and they'll get you what you need. Or you can check it out here at http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/ and get the part number.
Hope this helped.

i went with the quik snap shades.....they snap in and are held by channel clips that wont come loose but can be removed if you want...i did notice a little wind noise at highway speeds but nothing major...they look and fit great...on the mud flaps i cant really say as i dont have any yet.....
I have the Husky mud guards on my truck. You can get them to fit just about anything. Just ask a stocking dealer near you. I have the bright oval tubes and if you want to see what they look like you can see them in my gallery.
Thanks for the responses.
How dark are the Weathertech WeatherFlectors? According to their site, only the lighter color will fit the new F150. The new dark model seems to only be for the Heritage right now. I'd like to keep my black truck as dark as possible, so hopefully they aren't too light.
The Husky guards look pretty good. There seems to be more room between them and the running boards then I expected. They are the ones made for "with factory wheel lip molding & with or without running boards" right?
