XLT gets FX4 grille - pics

I prefer the FX4/STX "bar style" grille over the "honeycomb"
XLT/Lariat grille.

So here are some before and after pics, It was pretty easy to do
except for prying the surround off the old XLT grille!

How much did the FX-4 grill cost you? I think it looks great on an off road style truck. Very rugged looking, like a Super Duty.

That looks great! I thought the same thing about the lariat honeycomb grill. Just didn't like it for some reason.

I just replaced mine with the carriage works billet grill.

The hardest part was getting the honeycomb piece to "snap" out of the surround.

Grille Surround

ATC SAV,
I' planning on replacing my XLT grille surround with the chrome surround. I think it would tie the chrome bumper to the front of the truck better with the chrome grille surround. How difficult was it to remove the grille surround from the honeycomb insert. I've looked at it and seen many clips that would need to be pried apart, but since I haven't received my new grille I haven't attempted it yet.

Wandell,

It cost $129.75 + $7.99 shipping = $137.74

I ordered it on a Wednesday and recvd. it the following Saturday.

Got it here:

04XLTScrew,

It is not difficult but a bit of a hassle to do. You are right about the clips - that is what holds the surround into the grille, it snaps in to place. Just get a long flat head screwdriver and apply pressure to the clips at the same time pushing the grille and surround opposite directions. Work your way around.
Be careful not to torqe the surround to much - it's only plastic!

ATC SAV - do you still have your honeycomb grille? If so, do you want to sell it? Please email me if you do. 2fastlx@joink.com
