ARE Tonneau

Ordered my ARE LSII today. Just wanted to let everyone with a Dark Shadow Gray truck know that you need to get your paint scanned! ARE said that there are to mant color variations in this color to get an exact match any other way!

Jason Tonneaus wanted to do that for my yellow one also.. since there is 5 different yellows used for the Blazing yellow... (which I don't know if that is true or not..) they wanted me to take my gas door off and send it too them so they could scan it... my accessory store told them.. Um No before I even heard about it..

Next week It is suppose to be here.. we will see if it is the correct color.

Dwill,

ARE has different paint suppliers in "major city's" that you take your truck too. They use a color match machine, the same one auto body people use, to scan your color. The machine prints out a "recipe" to mix the correct color. So you get a custom color match.

ctupton,

The ARE dealer said that they did the gas door thing also. But they couldn't figure out how to get mine off! So they called ARE and they said that for the 04's we need to get the paint scanned!

Hmmm...the only thing my A.R.E. dealer required was the year ('04) and the paint code (CX=shadow grey). The color came through perfect albeit the paint had several defects in it and I refused the tonneau.

A.R.E. did a great job matching the paint on my Yellow STX. All I sent them was the paint code.

My Ford dealer took my tailgate, Blazing Yelllow so the local A.R.E shop could color match, they got my cover fitted and told me they had reordered it already due to paint defects and chips on it, but I can keep this one on until the new one arrives.

Also got a dent in my tailgate while it was off....... not very happy about that but they are rectifying it.

Rick.

A.R.E ordered

I just ordered an A.R.E. LSII for my '04 Lariat Screw. Medium wedgewood blue. The dealer took the paint code (LD), looked it up in a book to double check. We'll see in a couple of weeks.

$795.00 for the tonneau, + tax, + 65.00 install fee. (normally I would do this myself but decided to go for it this time)

$907.70 total

Looking forward to getting it on.

Scott
