i don't want to rub it in, but you also got a POS engine with all of that. you may want to ask for a some money back from your dealer. you should never get ripped off on a purchase this expensive. say you want to "re-negotiate" the deal or he can keep his truck. you may have the lemon law on your side because of the engine stuff. check out your local lemon laws. you can find all the lemon laws for each state here:

they are there in all of their long *** glory. have fun reading...

Brewmaster,
He didn't say which engine he had? He could have the 5.4 or 4.6. Which engine are you calling a POS and why? And why does the lemon law come into play because of either ford truck engines in a 2004 vehicle? Shouldn't the warrenty cover any engine problems?

From what I have heard (From inside sources) the 4.6L is having some trouble with the heads.

In the Ballpark

bfab,

thanks for starting this thread. I am under the weather (flu I think) so not alot of excess energy. I ordered an FX4 Screw Black on Black with just about everything on it. MSRP at 39,200. I went in with the forddirect.com pricing and we wrapped up the deal in about 10 minutes. I'm at $800 over invoice and happy with it. I know the salesman, he will take care of me and if I need work they will pick up the truck and return (I think I will stick my GPS in so they don't get too crazy with the test drive). I ordered 9/11 and do not have a build date as of today. Can't wait.............

He has posted in other threads that his truck has been the shop for about 2 weeks or something like that for a ticking sound. It came down to a problem w/ the variable cam timing. He is getting a new engine I belive. Also you can only get the 5.4 in FX4 and Lariat.

I'm very surprised to hear Ford is having issues with their 4.6 V8. Different versions of that motor have been in Explorers, F150's, CrownVics, Mustangs and I bet others. I know they are not exactly the same but I thought that was one thing (4.6V8) Ford had mastered. I had a 01 supercab F150 4.6 and the motor behaved perfectly and I towed a camper allot.

Wow. I thought we got a decent deal with our 3000+ off MSRP & running boards thrown in. Mind if I ask how you got such a great deal?

BTW, I hate to hear about troubles with the 4.6, that's what we got. No problems with the 4.6 in my other ride though.

Are you making light of my situation?

I paid an A-plan price.....there is no haggling with that. Maybe there are a few things that I have on my truck, that you don't.

I wouldn't call my engine a POS just yet....every company has some quality issues and seeing how I am an engineer in the manufacturing world, I tend to give manufactures the benefit of staying calm....unless the problem becomes persistant.

I also posted every one of those threads to help out individuals on this site that may be seeing the same problem.

Beastboy, I don't think Brewmaster was trying to make light of your problems. I think he was making light of the fact that therealist didn't seem to be aware of your problems after so many of us have read about your engine issues, which BTW, I hope you get settled as quick as possible.

Then again, I could be completely wrong but thats just the way I took it.
