Has anyone actually taken one home yet?

It's getting closer . . . .
Seeing how this forum is like 22 pages long and was started way back in Sept 2002, let's all post here when you get your new 2004! Post what model you got, the day you got it, and the city and state you got it from. (options, and price paid are optional)
Maybe we'll see a wave of them across the country.

I'm still waiting for the dealership here to get one. I keep asking my buddy (Sales guy) when he's going to get one, but he's still not sure... I'm not real interested in one right now, but might be someday, and I'd love to see one up close...

Thumbs up

The new F-150 is being shipped as of today! Norfolk Assembly Plant (Norfolk, VA) has begun shipping the new trucks. They are awesome! This truck will be the death of Chevy, Dodge & Toyota. I work in the Ford plant and we have been working hard to deliver the BEST truck the World has ever seen. Start checking out the dealerships cause, THERE HERE!

I doubt the new trucks are being shipped to dealers. My Ford Field Engineer will receive his this week sometime to test for a month, then all engineers report problems and findings to Ford. I have heard not until Sept at some point before dealers get them to sell to the public.

'04 @ dealer 1st Saturday of September!

That's what my dealer told me. He said they have a big barbecue planned for that day, so everyone can come and check out the new truck and have some fun at the same time. This is an important rollout for Ford and they want their dealers to make it a big deal too, ya know, get the public excited. Another, differnt, dealer told me he thinks Ford may be willing to give better rebates to those who buy first, because Ford wants them out there driving around so people say, "Wow! What's that? I HAVE to have one of those!"
Who knows, maybe it's all bs. But whatever, I'm excited - and on my final steps to deciding where to place my order!

Uh...It ain't that far, fellas.
I would bet that that 10-15% of the plant workers are Tar Heels.
It is nothing compared to Tysons Corner VA where I spent the past week. Talk about a commute. That is pure hell up there.

I sat in a wedgewood blue / tan int. XLT 2wd on monday night. It's on the showroom floor and they said no one is even allowed to test drive it until september. What a sweet truck!!!! Waiting for my Black FX4 Screw sometime in late sept. or early oct.

I saw a gadzillion Mercedes, BMWs, Audis and other expensive cars. As for trucks, I saw two Fords and a Dodge and they weren't new.

That definitely ain't truck country.
