There are many topics on this in the Care and Detailing forum. I just tried Meg's Clay kit. Kind of like lipstick on a pig with my truck. but I did notice it took a bunch of "unseen" stuff off.

i use either megs or mothers clay kit. whichever is cheaper. i think the megs kit comes with two bars instead of one (but you can just cut the mothers in two) which is better if you drop one of them.

polish= megs
wax=megs NXT 2.0
wash= zymol car wash, this stuff smells awesome!
quick detailer= zymol or megs ultimate quick detailer
glass cleaner=stoners invsible glass
leather= lexol cleaner and conditioner (separate bottles) or megs rich leather spray
dash= megs interior detailer

I've used kits and waxes from both Mequires and Mothers. Now I'm using Adam's.

I prefer the Meguiar's Clay Kit. No particular reason, just kind of partial to them for over the counter stuff.

Wash - Meguair's Gold Class Shampoo, Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash & Gloss, and ONR.
Sealant - Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0
Trim - Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant
Tires - Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel
Rims - Duragloss 501 or 105
Chrome - Mother's Chrome Polish, Duragloss 501 or 105
Lights - DG 105 or my paint sealant.
Glass - Zep Glass Cleaner and Rain-X
Spray Wax/Detailer - Meguair's D156 (UQW) and M135 (UQD)
Polish/Scratches - Meguiar's Ultimate Polish and Scratch-X

Also have a lot more products that I have yet to use.

You should use clay before compound. They don't do the same thing. If there's contaminants in the paint, you will just grind them around with the compound.

I think from an article I read before all clay bars are composed of the exact same compounds. No difference in any of them.

Yes and no - Clay Magic holds the patent but there ARE different grades. The consumer kits from Megs and Mothers are very mild grade. The professional clay comes in different grades.

yup! clay gets rid of all the small bumps in the paint that polishing cant get out.
