Fog Light Problem
My son has them in his Mustang fogs and that's the truth. He is trying to get me to put them in all our cars...
It just looks too bright for me BUT has a nice clear light path at night using them.

HIDs are overpowering your foreground light. Believe it or not, there is such as thing as too much light and HIDs are just that. Thats why there are light laws- there can be only so many lumens in front of you, beside you, etc, etc. Halogens burn around 1200-1800lm, and HIDs burn at 2500-3200lm. You are basically killing yours and every one elses vision. Cops really don't care too much, because that is too much paperwork for them.

Pretty much.
Can't tell you how many HIDs I see with factory housings made for halogens. All that pretty light wasted in some kind of spread pattern about five feet in front of that vehicle rather than the narrow downroad beam they are meant for.
I did see this one 99-02 GMC Sierra on the way into work one morning with some 6000(ish)K color HIDs...with one headlamp pointed about five feet on the road in front and the other about half as far ahead. evidently seeing poorly enough to be driving about 20 under the speed limit. Nevermind goofy aim there, but what a silly looking waste.

thats good to know i guess. my truck came with them, and they work fine for normal driving. i have a good range at night. but my high beams aren't HID, like i said, not my choice. but i suppose its a good thing.
Nope. You'd see better if you went back to some Sylvania 9007s or something. I got HIDs when I turned 16. I thought they were cool but I got tired of having to do 55mph because I couldn't see 20+ feet in front of me. I eventually switched back to halogens. I was quite surprised because I got my high beams back and the HALOGENS put a smile on my face.
