2002 7700 4x4 power train swap

I have a 2002 7700 series F150, xlt. It has a dashboard transfer case activation system(2-4 shift ****). I have a line on a drive train from a 2001 7700 4x4 but it has a floor hand shift transfer system.

can the solinoids from the electrtonic shift be put on the manual shift transfer case? can the manual transfer system be installed into the 2002 without major issues, and not using the electornic system? Any other issues in using the tranmisssion/diffs? I belive the gearing is the same, same overdrive tranny. Thanks.

I will confess that I don't have any experience in this matter with Fords, but I do have a similar situation with a same vintage Chev. We have in our stable a '99 Chev 2500 that had a failed push-button transfercase. A stick-shift transfercase was swapped in but it never ended up being wired up. From what research I was able to find it was as simple as splicing a few wires and everything would work. The downside, however, is that cruise control wouldn't work anymore. We never did get the whole thing working...

Without comparing side-by-side with another pickup I'm not sure how the situation in Fords would work. It may just be as simple as a few wires and away you go. If you don't have cruise right now anyways (like me) you don't have to worry about that. Since all the 4WD systems of this generation have automatic hubs anyways, swapping from one transfercase to another should be plug-and-play.

Or plug-and-pray. YMMV.
