Fog Light Problem

so, i just got a 2000 5.4l lariat stepside and the fog light housing that came with the truck is filthy and covered in mud on the inside. figured i i would get HID fogs to match the headlights. but it didnt have any bulbs in the housing (they were not connected because the previous owner was going to wash them. when i checked the connections one of them is missing, just wires hanging down there.)

Where should i look for the new wiring harness and bulb? i do not know the part number for the bulbs. and what is my best choice for HID fog lights? im very interested in the Depo Fogs. i would also love a replacement valance.

i was debating on this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-2003-FO...#ht_1913wt_952

or this one
http://www.andysautosport.com/ford/1...s00067836.html

thanks for any input.

IMHO, buy a 4wd valance and go with the Depo fogs. It a great, clean factory look but still adds to the styling of the truck if you have Lightning headlights, or some other type of clear lens lights.

DON'T get HIDs over 5000k to put in your fogs. I know that you want them to match the headlights, but being that you are lifted, you better aim them down, because I honestly would be pissed if you blinded me with them.

if yer going to hid anyways then splice the trigger wires for the relay into the harness....you won't have to worry if you do it correctly....

PnP hid ballasts suck....

You can usually pick up a harness for the 9005 bulbs at the common auto store chains.

And yes, they were Depo fogs on the truck. I tried to keep a "factory/OE" theme with her. Was basically shooting for an FX2 look had Ford done an FX2 in our body style.

ok, the depo fogs are in. is there a fog light bulb that produces a "whiter" light so they match my HID's a little better?

Those are HIDs, and they easily blind oncoming traffic

Bud you got an awesome truck but you really need to get retrofits or go back to regular halogen bulbs. You are goin to be blinding people every where you go at night

Thanks.

Surprisingly enough I don't get flashed at all (knock on wood). I did have one scary moment that I could not get out of. I was driving along when a cop made a turn in front of me. When then hit a red light. I thought..."great, he now has the power of the sun behind him right at his rear view mirror". And of course it was a long light...felt like hours (haha). But when it turned green, he just went on.

I've driven past and behind other Cops at night. So far so good (with a HUGE KNOCK ON WOOD HERE!)...
