paint lower valance??

hey guys just wonderin if any of you have ever used Krylon Fusion to paint your lower valance. i used it on my bed rail caps to paint em black and they look nicer than the gray for sure. i still need to do the wiper cowl and rear window surround. just wonderin who?s used the fusion on their valance and how well it's holding up. also, you guys think the black valance on my silver truck would look good? any input and pics would be appreciated, thanks!

you're gonna get rock chips on something that big with just rattle can. You might have better luck if you clear it, but then you're still gambling.

that's what i was worried about. i mean i drive a lot of back roads where there aren't a ton of cars, so if i were to do it i should put like 3-4 coats on, and then i can clear it. think the clear would help some?

the clear will definitely help seal up and protect it

Black does look better imo. I plastidipped mine and the trickle looked brand new with the black one.

PREP PREP AND PREP. I put 2 coats of base, 4 coats of color, and 3 coats of clear on my metal front bumper and plastic STX valence and they are chipping BAD. I'm going to have to re-do mine

sand like a ****, lots of primer, maybe adhesion promoter, and sand the primer between coats, and sand before coloring

You are almost better off going the route of bedliner on the lower valance. You can typically get a wide color range in them nowadays.

I have plans to bed line my lower v black before my truck was wrecked. It should hold up a lot better to chips, while still keeping a nice glossy look to it.

I plasti-dip'd mine a few months ago and it's holding up well, it has a scratch on it in one or two places, but i can just go back over it with a spray of plasti-dip again and it'll blend in.

No prep work on it, besides cleaning it good.

cool thanks guys. cause i actually used the rattle can bed liner spray on my rocker panels as well as on the plastic trim on the insides of the doors and it looks cool, has a clean yet rugged look to it. so i'll be okay if i use that same spray on the valance as well? cause i never thought of that that's a good idea. 4-5 coats of that should be plenty

I tried the spray bed liner on my kick panels, door sill trim, and the rear bumper steps and they all started to chip away after about 8 months. I prepped them good, cleaned them, etc, just seems that the spray bed liner is hit and miss on sticking to plastic.
