1997 - 2003 F-150

Are those rubber pieces supposed to be cracked and dried like that?

Are those rubber pieces supposed to be cracked and dried like that?

I changed the brakes today and noticed this. Also, are the blue plastic things supposed to be cracked like that on the stabilizer bar?

Those look like replacement swaybar endlinks. Mine are the same color, but the bolt is different. No, they should not be cracked. You can get a new set for less than $20 if ya look a little. Consider replacement.

looks like your upper control arm bushings have seen better days

they appear to be factory upper control arms/ball joints. I would think you're way past due on them.

I see you still have the original shocks on. You would help your drive-ability immensely by putting new shocks on, as what you have aren't doing anything right now.

Thanks guys I'll do that because right now its riding like a tank. How come there is a grease fitting on one of the balljoints but not the other? Weird...

Probably been replaced before.

Ahhh well I really appreciate the help guys thanks. Hopefully I can get them replaced next weekend.

get the control arms and lower balljoints from rockauto. it saved me over $100 getting mine from there.

the debris cover around the upper ball joint is the factory one, on the drivers side

set of front uppers is about 40 bucks I think and the lowers are the same.

lucky! you have a 2wd... cheaper to do the front end... mine is due and its gonna cost an arm, leg, and a first born child...

Mines 4wd and it doesn't cost too much. One hundred for front shocks and one hundred for upper ball joints and control arms. A lot easier if you do the work yourself
