Bi-xenon hid high/lo problem

I have a 2002 ford f150 with daytime running ligts. I recently installed a bi-xenon hid kit. The low beams work fine but when you switch from high to low there is no change visually in the lights. When you look at the dash with the low beams on the high beam indicator is dimly lit. When you flip to high beam the indicator lights all the way up. I purchased the kit that comes with the relay and all. If anyone can please help me with this issue I have I get my truck inspected in a few days and have no high beams. Thanks

Your wires are backwards. The 9007 plug is shared with a 9004, your kit should have instructions on how to flip the wires.

Ebay style hid kit? Could be the cheap chinese bulbs aren't retracting, aka you get what you pay for basically.

yup. plus the relay harness itself sounds like it has problems (ie backfeeding)

its actually not a cheap it it was $188 dollars i figured it was a decent kit....rednutbow to be honest i did search for a couple hours on this but found it was mostly for the next generation truck. So you think i need to check my grounds on the kit and make sure that everything is grounded good.

Alright, but I sent my kit back... just to find out that the directions were wrong and the ground prong was in the wrong location. Get a multi meter and check what is +12V hi/low, then the 3rd wire is ground. Thats what I ended up doing, and it been working good since.

sorry dude, you most likely got scammed. Just about all aftermarket HID kits are made from the same factory in china and sell for about $30-$40. For a few bucks more, you could've done a proper retrofit with bi-xenon projectors instead of silly PnPs

as far as the problem goes, go double check the wiring. A DMM would definately help in this case.

.

Well 100W is almost twice the wattage of stock so hopefully nothing melts...

An oem HID system only uses about 35 watts and is around 4300k. Anything more than that and you start to lose visible light (further and further off the spectrum). Personally if I was install HIDs it would be a retrofit from an OEM bi-xenon projector i.e. 04+ Acura TL. Those FX-R systems look pretty nice also.

Know what your getting into and be careful with the wiring.

well first off, those "100W" ballasts only put out about 60W of power. secondly, you are more than likely going to burn something up, and dont get me started on glare.
