Autometer instrument cluster installed!
Congrats! You'll enjoy them, they kinda make your interior feel new again. A little bright at night with the dimmer all the way up...had to tone it down a notch in the country when driving in the dark. Driving in town isn't too bad though when there's other lights to balance it out a bit lol
If you can change your circuit board over to this Autometer without any problems with your odometer, is it feasible that you could switch a circuit board from an XL to an OEM cluster that has a tachometer on it? And it actually work?
I ordered refurb L cluster from Tousley Ford (with correct mileage) and had local dealer to program it.

I'm guessing these are the same as the stock ford idiot gauges? They look cool but I dont think its worth the money and the hassel if they dont actually work like the Ford gauges. Thats one thing I hate about my F-150. Ford thinks the customer base is stupid. We cant read real gauges..
I put mine in a couple of months ago and it looks and works great. The gauges, speedometer and tach actually do work better than the stock gauges. Though like everyone else I am a little bummed about the gauges not having numbers. Including the last statement I have several of pet peeves:
1. I wish the shift indicator would have stayed black with white characters, and no you cannot swap in the stock indicator without significant modification to the cluster. It fits but you cannot get any lighting to it for visibility at nighttime.
2. The lunar illumination is very bright and when you tone it down to a bearable point, all the rest of your illumination (AC/Heat, Overhead Console, Door and Steering wheel lights) are really too dim to do you any good.
3. Some of the warning indicators seem dimmer than the stock cluster, but they may just need new bulbs.
4. The Cruise control indicator is no longer a symbol, just a round dot and when it is on at might the yellow light bleeds into the water temp gauge.
I sent Autometer an email on their website asking if they know of a way to tone down the brightness of the cluster so it more closely matches the rest of the truck's illumination, so far no answer.

I have this gauge, my tack has been broken for a long time. It does look good thinking about getting another one so the tach works again. Put my old one back in to make sure and it is the Autometer gauges that is broke. Other problem is that Autometer stopped making Lunar series gauges so you cannot find other gauges that are an exact match. The NV series is close but not exact.
