Install wasn't too difficult. You just gotta follow the instructions on swapping the original circuit board into the cluster so you don't screw anything up. Once you do that tho, it's just plugging the new one in where the old one was.

I'm guessing these are the same as the stock ford idiot gauges? They look cool but I dont think its worth the money and the hassel if they dont actually work like the Ford gauges. Thats one thing I hate about my F-150. Ford thinks the customer base is stupid. We cant read real gauges..

Well these are actually autometer gauges, they just use the factory circuit board for light source and to retain all the PATS information. I've noticed the temp gauge actually moves as my truck warms up in this cluster whereas my old temp gauge hardly budged. Gas gauge still steadily moves tho...was hoping it would move a little less vs my original

That is awesome. Did you have any trouble getting the needles lined up so they track correctly, like the tach? I really love those gauges...looks awesome.
That is one thing about GM..they put actual numbers on their gauges,,,water temp, oil pressure..

All the needles came pre-assembled so I didn't have to mess with that. They're spot-on with my edge evo mph reading as well. I only had to mess with the back side of the cluster, the front came assembled and the clear plastic that covers the gauges is a genuine ford part.

Was it necessary for them to put their brand name on every gauge..

My POS GMC van has working gauges. One of the few nice things about it. The water temp changes the oil pressure and all. I hate that about ford. Once thee water temp reaches a certain temp it moves to its spot and stays there you have no idea how things your doing like towing a heavy trailer up a hill are affecting the engine. Same with the oil pressure. start the truck up soon as it has pressure it move to is spot and stays there volts same deal. I have all those thing duplicated on my gryphan so I get some real information on how the engines doing.

Here is what I want. They actually make the autometer clusters for autometer....this is just their version.

Well as far as I can tell, it's gonna be better than the factory gauges...it's not just a gauge face, it's a whole cluster so they're not Ford gauges. But I still haven't driven it much since I walk to class and work from where I live, so maybe the jury's still out.

Yeah I had seen those before and forgot about them! Dang, I would've really liked the chrome surround on the white 'classic series' cluster.

I think they only work on 99-03. You need the digital odometer. 97-98 out of luck. Looks worth a couple hundred dollars and a few install hours to me.
