CEL flashing, rough idle & power loss

Hey guys,

Well my truck has never lit the world on fire with power, it is a 2000 F150 extended cab with the triton 5.4 in it. It has alway idled rough at a light in gear but once you touch the gas she would smooth out and run fine. well yesterday I went to get dinner and it was fine, left it running when I ran into grab the food, came out and hit the gas. Well it was running rough and shaking as soon as you try to accelerate. If you breath on the throttle you can feel it clear up then get rough then clear up but if you dip into the throttle it is ROUGH. I had a code P0303 which is bank 1-10 misfire, WELL THATS A HELP! Codes P0301 to P0310 is the same freaking code, how DUMB!

I bought new injectors and coil paks but could it be anything else???

The truck has 155k on the factory injectors and 2 paks have been changed. Since I do not know how to figure out which cylinder is the problem I am going to replace all but could the MAF do this too?

Those two codes indicate miss fires
So your stepping in the right direction with the coils might want to do plugs also....

You might want to do these also
Clean the throttle body, IAC, maf.......might want to check the rubber ninety behind the tb its for the pcv system.....those like to rot also.....

Just to comment, code 301 is cylinder 1 front on the passenger side.
A 310 code would be for a v10 motor.
Depends on the reader you used as to what it told you.
Nothing really dumb except the reader used.
The CEL flashing tells you raw gas was being burnt in the cats for that bank. Never continue to drive with that kind of known condition.
From experience, letting it idle lost a coil that was ready to fail anyways from the engine bay heat.
At 155k anything can go now.
Leave the air meter alone. It's not the cause.
Good luck.

P0303 is a #3 misfire - that's the 3rd one back on the passenger side.

How many miles are on your plugs, and what brand are they?

plugs have about 10,000 miles on them and I am not up for cleaning the MAF, I see bad written all over that. I will see if the injectors and packs fix it.

Trust me It is a task I am more then able to do but since you feel like being the smart let me know how it is done! I was always told the elements will break if you attempt to clean them and even more so being so with 155K+ miles and most likely not the issue. A MAF I do not see causing a miss, it is an individual cylinder issue.

Just don't touch the element - spray it with MAF cleaner.
