Ya lol. We all start somewhere haha. Anyway, I just called my mom and got her to check my axle code and its... 27 3.31 non ls.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to go to a wrecker and find an ol ford with a 8.8 ls diff and just rebuild it? Or buy a brand new diff from summit or something like that ?

Also, if I do go find a 31 spline 8.8 ls diff from a truck at a wrecker.. Will it bolt right in my truck?

Would my open diff gears work on the limited slip diff ?

Basically I wanna know if everything from my open diff except the carrier. So gears, pinion, spider all that sheet.. Will it work on the ls carrier?

Your spiders and all that sheet will already be in the new diff.
You just bolt your ring gear to the new diff and your pinion stays the same too.

Yeah,
I guise I should of added that in.

If your going to do it yourself and have never done it. You will need special tools and you better do a lot of reading up on it before you even attempt it.

Ive never done one but It's a pretty technical job.

Time consuming, and attention to details.

Someone else posted this somewhere recently, I like it, good overview of whats entailed.
