So its more then just swappin out the carrier? Cause I know how to swap the carrier and that I know you don't need any special tools. I watched one of the mechanics at work(I'm an apprentice) pull the carrier out of a 98 f150 with an 8.8

I'd honestly not skimp too much so I chose a KD indicator for you. KD is decent grade at least.

 

I was talking about special tools to remove and install the carrier. Like for example you need a special tool to remove our ford fuel filters.
