Well if when my truck was stock with just bolt on goodies gears helped the most. But I did see about 3mpg with a canned SCT tune and 93.

It might help but I doubt it will pay for itself quickly. But it still couldn't hurt. I just bought a hypertech one.

I have a superchips program in my truck and i noticed almost 120km more a tank but with certain programmers or programs you have to run high octane fuel which quickly makes the cost not necessarily worth it if you are doing it just for gas mileage.

It all depends on what modifications you currently have on your truck, what you plan on doing performance wise in the future, and the main aspect is your driving habits. If you drive like a BOH (bat outta hell) everywhere you go, then you won't see any mileage increase. You will feel the power, which in turns makes the truck more fun to drive, taking down your mileage.

It also depends on what you use your truck for. If you do a lot of highway commuting/driving, and/or towing, then yes, a programmer with custom tunes will be a good investment.

Also look into doing an electric fan setup.

Hi.

No sir - steer well clear - all of these things are SCAMS. And can harm yer truck.

Refer to: https://www.f150online.com/forums/4207817-post10.html

For a brief list of respectable products and tuning shops --see my siggie.

Good luck!

I have the Superchips program in my 02 and I love the results. The throttle response is much improved over the entire rpm range and I estimate 20hp increase along with a modest mpg increase, (1 to 1.5mpg).
