I got a Diablo Sport MAFia for christmas. It's just a plug and play to the mass air sensor, and so far, I like it. I get much better response now, without decreasing my MPG's. I'm a bitch on my truck though (donuts in the snow, anyone?), so I couldn't say if the MPG's are actually better.

not impressed with any tuners. Just dont expect alot of gain out of them. I ran the sct, then an edge, now I have Gryphon custom tunes. I just im used to friends powerstrokes and stuff. I change the tune there is a HUGE difference in thier trucks. The only big difference I've felt is when I put my truck on towing. Shoot after I blew the head gasket in my truck really the only thing they are good for is AMPG and Coolant Tempature display. I will say the edge saved my motor when I blew the head gasket. My temp gauge said normal but my edge was blinking red and beeping when my truck hit 220 degrees!

so you compared a turbo diesel against a gasoline n/a motor

that was your first mistake, your second was ditching the SCT device for a canned edge, the you wound up with a custom tune after having your edge converted to a gryphon, when you coud've just got a custom tune for the sct device

Yeah you definetly can't compare a n/a gas motor to a turbo diesel. You couldn't tell any difference after custom tunes with the gryphon?

my truck runs better with a gryphon than the sct... and as I mentioned the display saved my motor, so in the long run... excellent choice, know it all! And I wasnt comparing them I was just saying you think "tuner" and you expect a pretty good gain.. but you have no idea how little an extra 20hp is after spend a few 100 dollars. And I should compare them though because my f150 is faster than my buddys 97 cummins and my buddys sct tuned 03 f150 that apparently is SOOOO much better

Let me clear my post up. A tuner is def better than stock, obviously. All I meant was for the price you pay if your just driving the truck to work or whatever its not worth it to me. I def noticed a difference.. I couldnt power brake my truck before now I can roast them. Just my $.02 take it for what its worth. Unless you got the money to blow go for it... you could get much more use out of something else for $400.

Yeah looking back, $400 is a chunk of change, but I'm glad I have mine

I had four separate tune shops recommend it, and two of them hooked it on the comp after install, and everything checked out a-ok.

Yeah it's ok to do it, But your truck would perform much better if you added it to the custom tune.
