Stumped on a loose plug

So I was replacing my sway bar links and i saw a plug just hanging there, not connencted. Wasnt too sure where it came from but then i thought since my 4wd wouldnt engage it would be somthing with that. Not 100% sure because i tried to look all over to where it could go and i couldnt find anywhere. The plug was located on the drivers side in the engine compartment way down towards the frame. close to the front diff. Not too sure, any input on this would help. Still tryin to fix the damn 4wd though

It is most likely for the EVO on the power steering. Your 97 doesn't have one. It came in the Expeditions. Wires might be Red with yellow stripe and Black with Orange Stripe?
