I'm not trying to bait you - sorry if it's coming across that way. I'm just trying to help you see reality.

You have a 13+ year old truck with 260+k miles with some issues. To you, it may be your "baby" but to a potential buyer, it's just an old tired truck.

It really just depends on where you live as to how much it is worth, i guarantee you if the truck was in my town you could get 3500 to 4000. Up north the truck isnt worth squat. I sold my brother in laws 97 f150 4.6 260,000 miles running on 7 cylinders, with the muffler cut off, bald tires, tape over the steering wheel airbag, no heater, no ac, transmission slipping. For 2000 bucks. I was asking 2500 for it just seeing what the reaction would be and after about 4 days it sold for 2 grand.

well, i took the for-sale sign out of the window. im gonna keep it. i crawled underneath with a can of primer and a angle grinder with a wire wheel, looking to clean up any body rust. found NONE. frame rot? none. i think its worth keeping. all new fuel lines and brake lines all the way back. it really suprised me.

thanks guys, sorry for the hard time. i appreciate the help.
