Lumbar Support Not Working?

The **** spins, but doesn't move the lumbar support. (It used to work, but has quit.) Before I tear into this blindly, is there a common cause for this? Any hints/tips for troubleshooting and repair? The factory manual doesn't seem to address it.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

Cable came off, or the end broke. Do a search. The fix is here somewhere.

Didn't think to look outside of the 97-03 section. Still didn't find much info. I was hoping for a detailed "this is what usually happens, and this is how to fix it" solution. Guess I'll have to tear it apart and see what my specific issue is.

Thanks.

Did ya see these threads?

Sounds like you will need to remove\separate you seat back from your seat cushion to gain access to the cable, which is most likely the culprit. Good luck.

Hadn't gotten that far, Chris. (Been bust outside most of the day.) These have good info. Thanks.

Well, THAT was EASY!

It's fixed.

I think it took me longer to do the WRITE UP than to do the actual repair.

Fortunately, it was much simpler than the ones in the links above. No broken cables or worn spots, just a piece of cracked plastic that I backed up with some metal.

Good stuff and excellent write up! I can appreciate the pictures, too. That's all I usually look at in instructions... and playboy mags

Glad you got it fixed
