you guys are thinking too hard

5 years ago, every has station in the country was selling pure 87. now its weighed down with 10% ethanol, that accounts for your 3-4 mpg loss

Raptor you don't think enough 10 percent ethanol does hurt milage but not by 3-4 mpg. I used to be able to get real gas when I went up north and I only saw one maybe two mpg better, but the truck seemed much happier. OP I agree change those front O2s that will help alot

at least thats how i had to do mine when i had mine done. i have vmp tunes, but theres also troyer and powerhungryperformance, theres probably others, but those are most commonly used via mail tunes.
can you tune two vehicles with one tuner? i have custom tunes on my mustang but figured i would need another tuner for the truck...

i've always wondered this, but you have like 5 "unlocks" on the tuner before it locks up or something. but if you have the x3lw or whatever uploader program, you are able to reset the tuner, so im guessing you could have 2 or however many vehicles on it, as long as you upload the .ll3 files to the tuner and use them for the appropriate vehicle with the correct strategy code. i am in no way 100% sure on this, but i would expect it to work like so.....hopefully some others with more knowledge on this can shed their knowledge.

i talked to SCT, i didn't ask about the live wire but it wont work... i didn't even think, the tuner is locked to the computer in my car and it can't be linked to two PCM's... i knew that but didn't even think about it... so i bought a X2 from a friend...

who should i get a tune from just for gas mileage?

nice looking car!

I definitely would recommend doing electric fans, I gained at least 1 mpg over all driving conditions/styles

how recently was the fuel filter replace? injectors cleaned?

thanks man, car is still in the making! building a motor in the near future... prolly gonna go al N/Asty! lol... 302 stroker with around 10/10.5 compression... good intake and a set of cams and long tube headers and it should be deep in the 7's... well, with tires it should be there... if it won't make 7's N/A then i put a small shot on it and get her there... 7.2's/7.3's and i'm done... looking to buy my old 95 GT pushrod 306 car back... i really miss that thing!

i just replaced the fuel filter... it has about 2 tanks run threw it... only thing i have done to clean the injectors is put some STP injector cleaner in and run it... prolly didn't help much...

id do an E-fan and change the front o2's forsure. you can get the MIL things for the rear or just wait to get a tune and tune it for the rear o2's to be delted. they just tell the computer the cats are working.

the front o2's tell the comp. how much air/fuel is in the exhuast so it can adjust i saw a 4MPG increase when i replaced my front o2's. also when i did my E-fan i think i got 1 more MPG or so.

Also if you want to DIY with tunes i have the sniper custom tuner. i made my own custom tune and put it in under 30 mins. and i can make as many diff. tunes for my truck as i want. 400 bucks and you can tune 2 ford gas cars/trucks out of the box. i love it went half in with a buddy and we both love it.

but id start with them o2's and an E-fan.
