Awesome. If I have a howto, and what to remove and what not. I'm pretty sure I'll be confident enough to do this on my own. Also, I'm not going to Belgium anymore.

Bad, because I wanted Belgium or Italy. But, they know I want to re-enlist and won't take anything but Belgium or Italy.

Also, I got my new grille and valance grille in today! Should I keep it Chrome or get it painted black?

front spring install.

remove wheel.
remove two large bolts from rear of brake caliper (18mm iirc)
remove brake line bracket from lca and set brake caliper aside on ground.
remove lower shock nuts (13 or 14mm)

remove lower sway bar end link nut (15mm)

Remove upper shock nut. (21mm) make sure you use pb blaster or wd 40 first itll help

now remove the shock through the lca
remove cotter pin from upper ball joint castle nut
Jack the lca up to compress the spring
remove the upper ball joint nut (21mm)

then using a pitman arm puller (rented from autozone) unseat the upper ball joint.
lower the jack under the lca
remove the stock coil
replace with new coil and stock rubber bushing on top (make sure the end of the coil covers half of the second hole in the lca coil mount)
jack the lca back up and re install the upper ball joint then just follow the same steps with new shocks and put everything back together.
advice: vise grips will help when installing the new shock upper shock bolt to hold the arm of the shock from turning.

the rear install you can follow raptors how to rear shackle install.

^^good post jake. But there is a way to do this without using the puller. I just can't remember how we got my springs out on my silver truck (did it when I was 17). But we did it relatively easy without the puller iirc.

And on the rear, the shackles are the easy park. It's the hangers you'll have trouble with. If you don't have an air compressor or access to one and an air cut off tool, it'll be a huge stumbling block. Although I guess you could use an electric grinder. An air chisel helps too, but you can do it without one. What I did was cut an X into the rivets holding the hangers to the frame and then used the air chisel to break the four pieces off. This step was the biggest time consumer of the whole kit. Those rivets are freakin' stout.

thanks just put my old daystar on my sisters 04 heritage the other day and i added the puller since neither me or my dad could get the upper ball joint un seated with out it. i was beating on the uca like crazy and everything (pickle fork included) so went to autozone and rented (for free) the puller and popped it off

I think we might've used a spring compressor. It was awhile back and my brother's father-in-law helped out.

yes. go get one for just incase that way you dont have to go back and get it. make sure they give you the bigger one since they have a pitman arm puller and a tie rod puller
