One wheel wonder!!!

One wheel wonder, single wheel peel, single stripe hype, one tire frier, all of these derogatory, slanderous, albeit rhyming, phrases describe my truck. Does my 2001 SCrew not have a LS rear end? Am I to drive this beast with what I consider to be a sub par rear end? Or could it be that i am just not trying hard enough to get both wheels to turn? Help me figure this out....cause I need a posi!!!

from the sounds of it you have an open diff. BUT the limited slips in these trucks go out then the diff will act like its open, untill it breaks.

axle code inside the door

Well isnt that just skippy.......i do appreciate the quick confirmation that my trucks **** end is mediocre, at best. Now I am going to have to get a LSD put in it.....anyone know a ballpark on cost for one???? or better yet, anyone got one they dont want?

do you plan on going any bigger in tire size? If not then 4.56's if you plan on going up to 37-38's then 4.88's

how often do you tow?

If he has an 8.8 rear, then the biggest he can go will be 4.56's. He'll have to upgrade to a 9.75 to fit the 4.88's.

Also with 4:56s he will have to get a notched cross pin

It has something to do with the diff. cover I think. I had never heard that you couldnt go bigger than 4:56 on a 8.8, but I would also assume that RAM AIR knows what he is talking about as he has re-geared his truck already. I was told that I will need to get a aftermarket diff. cover when I re-gear my 8.8 which is really soon... hopefully.
