I have a 97 4.2 5-speed 2wd and my brother has a 01 xlt 4.6 5-speed 4x4. Just wondering how many people still like to row throught the gears?

its a shame that too many people these days cant drive a stick. i have 3-5 friends that can drive my truck and only 3 can do it well cept they are used to having to rev real high since they all drive sports cars (rx8, civic si, new camero ss)

I love driving a stick. even in a truck (brother has a 06 tacoma prerunner- w/o the LT susp, its just a fancy package, with a 6 sp. and its nice) and my dad has a 04 mini cooper S w/ a 6 sp. and before that a 84 toyota pickup with a 5 sp. I learned to drive on that one.

Another one here too.

Although this Tally stop/go traffic has me wishing I had a slap-stick/auto Mazda6 or something... 11 mpg is nothing to be happy about.

My first truck (97' XL) was a manual. I really liked that ole' red truck. When I traded it in in 2002, I was looking for another manual, but could not find one in the XLT\Scab platform so I ended up with my current truck which is an auto.

i drive a 97 hyundai accent thats manual. The 150 is auto. Ive been driving for 4 years now and I actually find manual as an annoyance even though I do freewheel alot (shhhhh...) Its saves gas. I learned to drive on the hyundai and drove that solely for 3 years. It does keep me focused when driving home from friends houses at 3 in the morning, thats good. I dont think I would buy a truck with stick in it. sorry.
