Autos in Trucks.

Sticks in Cars.

Thats how I view it. Nothing turns me off from a truck than a stick. Except a Lighting 5-speed IF they only made one :/

Too bad you aren't a lot older. When I started driving, most trucks had manuals. Automatics didn't hold up well to heavy loads and towing. People also used trucks for a purpose back then, they weren't daily drivers.

Count me in. Love my 5 speed. The only reason I bought this one when the time came up. All my vehicles have only been manuals. Nothing better than driving a manual.

I always prefer a bolt action truck, even though the fleet is pretty much split in half either way.

Dad special ordered back in '96 to get a loaded 4.6 4x4 excab five speed.

Now just gotta do the head gaskets and get it runnin' again.

When I went to get a part for the explorer, they had a new 6.4L six speed sittin', and even though it was only 4x2, still signed right there to get the stick.

Why? It's good in a way to be young. My first thing I ever drove around was a stick. 2004 Celica GT-S SuperCharged, my first truck was a 1990 Ranger 4.9 I6 swapped Auto and loved it, I drove a stick truck and could never do that. Nothing like driving a car manual.

I have a 98 f150 4.6 4x4 5 speed and i love it. Only way to go as far as im concerned. Also have a vw jetta with a turbo and 5 speed. Alot of fun. btw does any one know were to find aftermarket shifter ***** for the f150's. All the ones i have looked at have threads and my truck has vertical groves. It just slips on and off.

All you stick pedelin clutch pushin gear grinding shift **** in your face drivers can

The f150 before my current one was the first auto I've owned. Before that were dozens of nothing but a stick. The auto is nice during the week when I have to battle through 1 hour of gridlock traffic every morning and evening. But I'd rather have a stick.

I ordered Mine with the 5 speed manual after my dad had problems with the auto in his Bronco and Crown Vic. Just more reassuring to know that you can shift when you want too. Mud pits, sand dunes and drinking coffee in traffic on hills are tougher but I haven't hit or spilled anything in a while...

My rig is a 10 speed, my little truck is a 5... I don't know anything else. Anytime I'm driving someones automatic, I'm always looking for the clutch to start it... For that matter the only time I use a clutch is to start and stop, other than that... float em.

I've been split on trannys in trucks in the past with both autos and sticks. Current, recently purchased, 98F F150 Lariat has a 4.6 and M5OD and I was pleasantly surprised with it. I'm not that well versed on what to expect for fuel mileage but so far I'm averaging 15.5 mpg with a greater ratio of local and in town driving than highway.
