ohhh now i see why its dirty. you dont have a screen in the hood's hole to keep out the outside debris. put a screen on the front of the scoop to keep the junk out of getting into the filter. did your hood have any bad effects from cutting the hole in it? ive heard if you try to cut your hood it will warp the hood or make ripples in it. if i did it to mine i would just be drilling holes in the hood like 1/16 of an inch in diameter. but a lot of them. i want it to look like a mesh after im done drilling, then put the twin scoops on, then drill the holes just like the hood would be then have a screen over the front. then id have an intake going up to the underside of the hood. i want to get a Y pipe for my intake and have the CAI i have now on the drivers side and have another tube running up to the underside of the hood to get the ram air effect. wont be able to do it anytime soon tho.

theres a screen on the front of the scoop just a mesh screen we painted it black thats why you cant see it.

As for rippling in the hood no i didnt i didnt cut any of the "Frame" parts of the hood. the lil areas that you can see like the middle one that i cut out the one under it and the ones on the left and right side you can cut out just fine. just dont cut any of the bubbled out area or the rippling will happen.

Mass air bolted to the filter i used the mount from the K&N77 kit the IAT i couldnt get in the rubber boot so it is sitting above my filter so it reads the air coming threw the scoop.

Better picture

Hey raptor man you have the K&N77 you can do this to yours too well just about anyone with a CAI can do this
