Exclamation What you guys think?

I am new to the forums and maby a soon to be f150 owner.

I am looking at this truck and was wondering what you guys though about it. I plan to go look at it next week if they still have it and possibly bring it home.

What are problems and other things I should look for when I go see it?
What are some common problems with this model truck?

Truck info.:

They want $5900 for the truck but I figure I can talk them down a little.

2000 Ford F-150 xtra cab

This isn't a very busy forum - you might want to use the Report Post button (the red triangle with exclamation point) to ask the mods to move this to the 1997-2003 forum.

Look for rust in the seam at the bottom of the tailgate on the inside. Also look for rust at the bottom of the doors.

Ill be sure to look at those.

Do these trucks rust by the body mounts on the core support? I have a ranger right now and it had very bad rust there so I had to replace the core support.

$5900 for a 2000 4x4 with 85k sounds like one hell of a deal to me!!! I hot mine 01 a/ 75k in 2004 for $11k. I would buy it in a heartbeat!! But that's IMO.

Yea, the low price is why im asking for things to look for and asking what you guys think of it. It kinda makes me think they aren't telling me something, but it may just be that they cant sell it with the way the economy is right now.

ask to take it for a drive. If they deny that, then they are trying to cover something up.

sounds like a great deal. definitely take it for a test drive & maybe ask for a carfax. but i would jump on it if you want to step up from the ranger.

With gas prices falling now, I would hurry up and jump on this. Full size trucks are hard to sell right now with the high gas. If it keeps coming down, and stays down, they may be back in demand again? It's a great time to get into a full sized truck right now, if you want to take the chance on gas.

I wont be able to go see it until the end of next week because the truck is in Houston and I dont know Houston well enough to go without someone. My dad is going to go with me but he is on an outage at the plant that he works at so he cant get any days off.

That is one hell of a deal. Buy it before someone else does, because you will end up kicking yourself if you don't.

That is ofcourse, if it runs good.
