what mud tire?

Well I'm lookin to buy some 35x12.50x20 mud tires and really want a kumho mt but I guess they don't make that size(not quite sure why)so I'm down to mud grapplers, ssm16(my number 1 right now) and toyo mt/nitto trail. I really like the m16 pattern and sound but don't know how long they gonna last...I want something that's gonna pull hard as hell in the mud but still perform decent on road with a nice mud tire hum. Reccomendations? Oh and I wanna keep it around 1300 bucks shipped

Toyo MT's always seem to win every discussion, mostly because they are the most road friendly MT out there. The Nitto Trails are getting great early recs from everyone.

Toyos are way over priced! I have the trail grapplers and I love them so far.

I got 37,500 miles out of my Toyo MTs and should have gotten more, but I didn't always rotate them like I should have. I don't know how they would have done in the mud because It stopped raining (or only rained when I was out of the country at work) when I bought them and finally started again. I loved them, never had a flat, but bought BFG ATs due to availability and I wanted something that would last a bit longer for much less money.

You can throw out the Mud Grapplers out as far as tread life goes. The M16 even though they look really aggressive are designed more as an all terrain, even though the little reading I have done with them says great things about them off road. I would however be a little cautious of any interco tire for a long on road life expectancy. You will not be disappointing with the Toyo's but they can be pricey. I just got a set of trail grapplers and love them so far, but I have not been off road with them yet.

For 1300 shipped it can be hard to find a quality tire in the size you want.

I'd also consider the BFG MT KM, Pro COmp Xtreme MT, Mickey Thompson MTZ and **** Cepek Mud Country.

ALSO those with trail grapplers! How is the road noise with these? As weird as it sounds I WANT something with a audible hum, not as loud as a mud grap but more than my bfg ats (basically zero noise)

You can hear them but they are not loud, you know you are riding on an M/T, but if you turn your radio on it goes away.

I recently read a magazine test on the Trail Grapplers and it said they were quieter than the Toyo MT's which is regarded as the quietest MT available (untill now).

i just bought the trail graps from discount tire in 285/65-18 for 1150 shipped including the road hazard protection. so just keep them in mind, they were the cheapest i could find. i dont have the tires on yet so i couldnt comment on the noise. as far as 4wheelonline goes, read this:

I'm gonna get my wheels and tires from "Mr. Wheel Deal". I offered him a price cheaper than fourwheeloffroad mounted, balenced and shipped and he accepted! :-) I highly suggest yall give him a try

Dayton M/T's my buddy got 47000 miles out of them. They are SUPER QUIET, just harder to find. Good in mud too.
