BFG Mud Terrain K/R 35 x 12.50 x 17

I found out the hard way today. I Got these tires from a friend. And wanted to put them on my 04 F-150 4 x 2. With only the 2 1/2 Daystar lift. And they rub big time on the Front. It I did a bunch of cutting they would fit. But to me they are just too big. I searched the forums before buying them, and found some 35s that fit and some that don't. Figured I would put my 2 cents in.

I did post them in the classifieds if anyone is interested in buying them. I got them cheap, and am passing along the savings. $400 for the set, and they are the K/R ones, which are the Race tire. Kevlar reinforced.

Didn't mean this to be an advertisment. Just an FYI. I have pics of the truck with the tires on. Looks great. Just rubs.

What rims did you use? Almost all of the 04-05 4x4's that I have seen with 35x12.50's did it by using the OEM wheels and the 2.5 inch leveling kit. It was still a tight fit. I can't remember seeing a 4x2 with 35's and only a leveling kit.

Rims

I used Robby Gordon Sim Beadlocks.

My New tires should be here in a Day or 2. Went with what I really wanted from the beginning.

315/70/17 BFG all terrains.

They are just the hair smaller that I need to have them fit.

They rub because your truck is a 4x2.

I hate to tell you, but the 315/70-17 AT KO is still a 35x12.50 tire. Sounds like you need to go with 33's.

i agree with Wandell, in a 4x2 with a leveling kit the bigest you will fit without doing alot of trimming would be a 33" i think it would look the most perportioned to

Tire sizes are always rounded up by the manufactures. The 35x12.50's you had were slightly less than 35 inches tall.

Bfg

BFG All Terrain 315/70/17 = 34.5
BFG Mud Terrain 35/12.5/17 = 34.8

Like I said. Just a Shade smaller.

Right, and he is saying that the MT K/R's, while listed at 35", are probably somewhere along the lines of 34.5-35" tall. Just because they say 35" on the side, doesnt mean they are 35" tall.

The new tires probably wont fix your rubbing issues, especially if the rubbing is as bad as you made it sound. Assuming thats actually their height, you get a whopping .3" (.15" per side) of extra clearance.

Johngs and I are thinking along the same lines. I don't think 3/10 of an inch difference in height is gonna solve your rubbing problems. I'd suggest going with BFG's 285/70-17, which is APPROXIMATELY a 33x11.50-17 tire.

Dirk- They just barley touch the plastic, They did not rub on the body at all. If I wanted to cut the plastic alittle there would of cleared. The 315's do fit, a buddy of mine same basic truck and wheels and tires, and no rub.

Don't go with 285, That is way to small. Gotta go with 35's, If I got prerunner fenders I was going to put 37's on.
