Oil used between changes
I know some of you guys out there use 6 to 6.5 quarts of oil at each change.
My question is: How much oil do you have to add in between oil changes?
I change my oil every 5000 miles and it tends to need about 1 quart in between oil changes.
Anyone else out there experienceing this. MM

Unexplained oil loss...
Taxman --
Another member was experiencing the same type of mysterious oil loss that you mentioned (think it was Eduk8er). He was running either 5W-30 or 5W-20 synthetic. He switched to 10W-30 and all was well.
Apparently, in some trucks the lighter synthetic is sucked into the combustion chamber and burned. According to my local lube shop synthetics will burn clean. This does not happen in all trucks.
If you are using a synthetic, that might be where your oil is going.
