Maybe so they fit and don't rub.
Especially since he's going with 13.5 wide tires.
Maybe so he's less likely to break CV joints if he actually uses the truck offroad.

i have seen pics of 04 -08 f150's with the suspension really flexing. the rear fenders seem to have just over the same radius as a 37 inch tire. and plus i found that tire for agood price and im about spent out lol. and is there that much diffrence from a 37 to a 38 . just a half inch of ground clearance

um... anyone w/ 8" of lift whether its a rize or 6" w/ cranked coilovers, etc 37/13.5 is what 99% of people run. cowboyup or w/e her name has 9" of lift with like a 15.5" wide tire i believe. eufhrin and cashel both have 9" (obs tho) with 15.5"s.

OP, are you sure those wheels have the correct backspacing for the lift? i would hate for you to get your truck done and them not work, they just don't seem to stick out far so thats why i am wondering.

i personally would go 38" since your going so big, but fx4life is at 10" w/ 37s and it does look good so either way can't wait to see the truck

Even ill have 38's soon, probably around the time I get my Rize trac bars. My 37's still look brand new and i dont really want to wait another year for 38's. 10" of lift with 37's is okay, somedays i love it somedays i hate it, its all how your looking at the truck. Mainly i think its the width of the tires.

I was wondering the same thing about the backspacing on those monsters dude....

I know aflores has a 12" Rize and runs some whells w/ a 6" bs but they rub on the suspension. I'm going with a 20x10" w/ 4.5" bs because it seems like that is the perfect combo. I'll also be running 38x15.5's though on 10.5"/11" of lift.

You might want to invest in other wheels w/ less bs or buy a set of spacers for the wheels if your budget is tight.

is there any way you can mesure with the wheels on the truck or do you have to take them off?

edit. i just went out side and looked at the with a tape. i think they ar 20x20's if so they have a 5.03 backspace. they have 305 55 20 nittos on them and they stick out about a inch to a inch and a half out passed the fender flair.

If they are 20x10's they should have 5.03" bs and you should be ok. If they are 20x9's then the bs should be 5.71" and you'll have problems most likely. I don't know how you'd go about measuring the width since that measurement is taken from the insides of the beads.

I'm guessing by the looks of it they are the 20x9's w/ 5.71" bs. I'm not positive though.

make sure to extend the rear driveshaft after you install the lift. dirtbound has had his fall out on the road.
the spacer is not going to be enough. you need like 3'' more driveshaft w/ 8'' of lift. as crazy as it sounds, i needed 1 1/4'' w/ only 6'' of suspension lift. a 1'' spacer is not going to cut it for 8'' of suspension lift, trust me. your transfer case is gonna leak, and you run the risk of stripping out the extension housing, driveshaft falling out on the highway, etc. that driveshaft slip yoke is only supposed to stick out 1 1/4'' out of the extension housing.

find a local shop that extends driveshafts. they cut the ends off of your stock driveshaft, and weld a new, longer piece of pipe in the middle, and rebalance it. i paid $198 out the door for my extended rear driveshaft w/ new u-joints. i pulled and reinstalled it myself.

also, for the record, i think cashel is running 38x 14.50's.
