Calling all lifted '97-'03 owners
Here's my dilema. I'm a junior in highschool. OBSESSED with my truck. always tinkering or changing something. It's a black 1997 f150 4x4 off road pack. I'm tired of the stock ride height FOR SURE. But being in high school I don't really have the funds for a suspension lift right now. I know I want to run 35'' mud grapplers. I was hoping I could do this by puttin in a 3" PA body lift but i don't think i can put up with the rubbing. So my question is what is the best suspension lift out there for our trucks and where is the cheapest place to but them???

as far as lifts and quality, you cant go wrong with fabtech, its probably the best or one of the best for its price.

Personally I would get a 6" suspension lift if you want to run 35s. if you go too big with a body lift u start to see the frame and it looks kinda tacky. Pro Comp and fab tech are usually the cheapest lift. But I would save up and get a RCD or a Sky Jacker. As for tires I like the mickey thompson MTZ and baja claw radials r my favorite.

Alright I think I've pretty much decided, I am going with a 3" body, Black 16x8 DC-1's,35" mud graps, and 4:56 gears. Because I saw RedRider150's truck and it is PERFECT! But now I'm worried that this setup is gonna be jerkin the wheel out of my hand. Is it possible to put on a steering stabilizer with a body lift?

yes, it is possible to put on a steering stabilizer. check out wandell's truck, he put on a steering stabilizer.
also, i have an 03 on a body lift w/ 35's, it will look great, trust me. if the gaps bother you just get gap guards. i personally don't like gap guards and don't mind the gaps.
on your wheel choice, you may want to go w/ something slightly wider, the stock rims are 7.5'' wide. i am running them, and have very slight rubbing on sloped roads only at full lock. no rub on level roads. you may want to look into a 16x9 or 16x10. i am personally going w/ a 17x9 when funds allow.
on the install, are you going to be doing it yourself? know you're getting into a 12-16 hour job for a proper install, from complete teardown to reassembly. if you're located in FL, i'd be willing to lend a hand...
