I have a 2003 F150 and am looking to get a system in it. I dont wanna over do it so I was thinking 1 10" would be fine, but i dont kno anything on systems. I was looking to buy a subwoofer and a amp on ebay. Anyone have any suggestions on what kind of amp and sub would work great with my truck? Thanks

I just purchased 2 kicker amps off of an Ebay store. They were not up for auction it was a "buy it now " thing. I got a 600 watt mono amp for $218 + $40 shipping. I called the kicker dealer here in town and the amp was $540. . It was a new factory sealed amp ...the only thing is you do not get a kicker warranty with Unaurthorized dealer.

If you buy gear of quality and use it as it is intended, you will rarely have any problems. So, the warranty won't play into it. Almost all failures of car audio gear of any reasonable quality is because of user stupidity or lack of knowledge. I think ebay is a good thing IF you make sure the dealer is reputable AND the equipment is decent AND you use it properly. It's worth the risk, as far as no warranty, IF you get it at a VERY GOOD price.

You can get a 360watt(around) Jensen amp for $100+/- and a 10in Kicker comp for $60 then a $40 Q loqic box. (It's hard to find anything cheaper than this)

I had that set up 3 years ago and it was pertty nice. Now my current system is valued over 1k

BTW: I learned this the hard way...Screw in you amp and your sub box to the body of your truck so In case someone breaks into it...Everything in my truck from the sub box to my dvd player are screwed into the floor.

Adire Shiva. Not sure what a 10 cost, but I know a 12 is 125 bucks.

Adireaudio.com

As for amps, if you want cheap priced but decent, I have heard US Acoustics, Autotek ss series, and some Profiles are supposed to be good. You can find most of them for about 100-150 for about a 300-400wrms one.

Those are all prices for new stuff.

I know alot of people dont like Profile, but Iv also seen many people who love them.

The only bad part is, Shiva's only come in 12's.

I was up at Adire today and all I can say is, I will never buy another sub from anyone else. Great customer service. Currently working on my Koda as we speak.

I also have a Shiva up on ebay right now in case anyone is interested
