Pacecar18

If I remember correctly, there was a thread working a while back that was collecting names and info.

I could be wrong. When you get to my age, it is the memory that starts getting lost.

Hey Jim,

There was one awhile back, but if I remember right it got all off track with rants and raves. This one I wanted strictly to consolidate the problem.

Stop cluttering it up by posting when you don't have the problem j/k

I think you are correct. A lot of the good threads got all off track with rants and raves. Just as this one is starting to get off track.

Mine was going to be replaced. Started leaking about 33500 miles. Ate a few quarts between there and 34500 miles. Pulled the Blower and the exchanger was sluged\plugged up. New motor....So yes in a round about way it was replaced. 1999 model , built in May.

To keep this on track, did those of you that had your intercoolers replaced, receive the same kind of loaner vehicle as GO_RILA?

Red face

They gave me a torus and sold my intercooler to someone else. They will pay. when my intercooler comes in, if ever, I will spend the day at the dealership, standing over the tech. (oh yes they will let me)

I have noticed several posts on this subject and since mine has only 1800 miles on it, I don't know if anything would be showing yet. You can bet I'll be out there in two minutes. I'm sorry if I'm adding a post too far off of the confines of the original,(if so reply by email) but I would appreciate an answer as to what a standard rate of level drop would be so I can watch it over time. I will also of course look for a leak, but I'd like to jump on it before it gets all over the place. Thanks in advance for any replies.

There should be NO loss of intercooler fluid. Its a sealed system like an engine cooling system, although I don't know if it is pressurized the same.

My 2000 has 3500 on it and has apparently dropped about a half inch in the reservoir.

Put a piece of tape on there and you can easily do a visual check whenever you feel like it.
