Proud of my six-popper!

Last week I went on vacation for hunting season here in Oregon. Its about a 360 mile trek to where we were camping, and my '88 F250 was packing a pretty good load. First off, my truck has a 4.9L, and a ZF 5-speed. Oh, and a 3.55 rear end. Its got 165,000 miles on the ticker.

My truck had my dirtbike, my girlfriend's quad, tools, 3 full 5-gallon gas cans, and some other misc. camping crap in the bed. The travel trailer I was towing is a 24' Prowler. When I drove across a weigh scale, the truck was 6900. That seemed a little much to me, but I'm sure the trailer tounge weight maybe affects that number a little? The trailer itself was 5500lbs.

I was able to zip along with no trouble at 60mph everywhere on the two-lane, except a few real steep hills. Once I hit the interstate, I ripped up to 65mph and held it there with no trouble.

For an ol' six-banger, I'm happy!

I was just wandering, is your truck an f150 or an f250? I didn't think you could get a six in a 3/4 ton truck in 1988. I Thought by then a 302 or 351 was standard equipment.

KAS300- man I gotta get some 3.55 gears. My truck only goes 60, it don't matter if it's empty or pulling a house it'll go 60. I really like my 300, prolly the best truck engine going.

Hey piperc, stop being an a$$ and mind your own business. I know he said his truck was an f250, I just didn't know you could get one with a six.

You know, considering there is TWENTY-TWO YEARS diiference in your model truck and his, don't you think the options list could have changed a little? I thought any wise a$$ like you would have thought about that. Any way, still waiting to hear from you KAS300 to settle this stupid a$$ arguement.

What the hell? This isn't even your thread! I was just trying to ask this guy a legitimate question and you had to butt in with your idiotic comments. I think you are the one who should leave. I haven't seen where you have made any constructive comments. If you want to write all of the stupid crap you put on here, start your own thread and put it on there. Otherwise, leave threads like these to people who have serious comments to post in regards to the question being asked or statement that is written.

The biggest internet hot heads

TEnd to be the guys who don't have the cajones to talk like that to other guys face to face in real life, so the net is the only place where they get to talk like they're badasses.
