obviously wire colors and their meaning wont help, unless included with a picture, because theres nothing plugged in there. Ill need the pin layout.

is this the correct one?

Take a look at this thread, It shows the pinout of the connector that carries the audio from the CD player to the radio. I believe that the ASYS signal is used to control the CD player. But you should do some further study to confirm that. Link: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...d.php?t=266178

just found this:

"So i know im a lottle late to the game...but i found a 5 dollar fix for this. Get an aux cord with the headphone jacks. Take off the small plug on the back of the stereo. Cut off 1 jack and hook the wires up to pins 6,7,8 and 14. I left the plug off. Didn't have the time or patience to wire it into the factory harness. Works just fine and didnt need the 150 dollar hookup. The cord had 3 wires instead of 4 so i added a splitter. Didnt seem to matter what wires went to what pin so i ran the splitter to 8 and 14. Hope this helps. If your looking at the back of the stereo, last 3 pins on the top row are 6,7,8 respectively. 14 is right under 7. Tried to load a diagram but cant. Its at www.justanswer.com"

from here:

ill have to try this out when i get some free time. seems to match the pinout i posted above. i do foresee a problem though with it going into aux mode without an external power source to trigger it unless the radio registers it being active if the device is playing and sending a signal. guess well see.
