I think the OP is long gone. I however have almost the entire system. I just have factory cats. I did not notice a loss of low end torque under daily driving, I don't ever tow anything though. The 3" system has a nice deeper grunt than 2.5".

Thanks for the reply. I'm having a hard time noticing if I lost some low end with the same setup minus the tips. Do you think the tips make it louder thank just 2.5 inch tailpipe ?

Very much so. The longer tips with larger outlets help 'echo' the sound out in the areas you are in, even better under structures or garages.

I'm still alive. Lol.
I got an email today saying I had a PM and had completely forgotten about this forum. Seen this post from December and figured I would at least give an answer. Better late than never, right? I've had a few other trucks since that one (in a 2015 F250 6.7 now) and just haven't been very active on F150 forums.
For your question..... it's hard to remember now but I do believe there was a tiny bit of power loss when going to the 3" mid-pipe but only noticeable when towing. Definitely a sound difference (deeper) when going to the 3" from the 2 1/2" and tips definitely make a difference. I tried a bunch of different tips on that truck as well as a 2010 5.4L and the 4" x 18" rolled edge always sounded the best IMO.
I've got a 5" system on my 6.7L........ it's odd talking about 2 1/2" and 3" pipe now. Lol.
