If there was a "best" we'd all be buying that one product. As it is, there are thousands of products on the market as there is no one "best".

What color is your truck?

It's hard to go wrong a wash like Megs Gold Class Car wash followed by NXT 2.0 and topped with a good carnuba wax.

Its pretty much open to personal opinion and what you think works and looks best on your truck. Tscope pretty much summed it up with some really solid advice if you are going to just be washing and waxing your truck because all those products he mentioned can be bought at any local auto parts store.

x2... I use Meg's shapoo and Conditioner. Besure to dillute it properly as they state on the bottle tho. I guestimate it as closely as I can.

I agree with Supercrew. The wash products are mainly to remove dirt and grime safely. To really bring out the shine a Quik detail product such as Meguiars UQD or UQW after the wash really brings that fresh waxed look back.

You need to read the detailing sticky before you ask such a broad question.

Read the sticky.

For car wash, I like using the Duragloss one they sell at NAPA/Carquest. A little on the expensive side, but it feels very slick. Granted, the Megs soap is good as well. While you're at it, buy another bucket so you can wash with the two bucket method.

For wax, you'll probably want something synthetic like NXT wax, though I like using Collinite 845, which can be found at some Harbor Freights (or online here)

But, as has been said above, it's all a matter of personal choice. Try stuff until you find something you like. Just don't try too many things, or you'll get hooked.

Good advice from these guys....
personally, I use MEGS wash and then ZAINO..........
I like using a POLYMER and this stuff will bead water for at least 6 months.

After the wash, ZAINO and a good POLYMER detail spray, can't beat the combo, IMHO.

car wash products

I agree on the Megs gold class. I have a black 06 supercrew and never had a problem with streaking or hazing as I have had with other products. I am speaking with experience about black trucks/vehicles my first was new in 79. As for wax/polish I use NXT or Turtle ICE. My vehicles are parked in a garage ...so the wax last longer. Just my two cents. 45/70SS
