Damn BUGS ! ! !

I have about an hour drive (one way) to work everyday. I live in East Texas, and these damn bugs are killing me. I have more bugs on my front bumper then white paint.

Is there a product out that will help keeping the bugs from sticking to my bumper so bad?

I don't know about keeping them off, but to remove them a lot of people on the forum recommend WD-40. I tried this myself and it worked pretty good. I would think keeping the truck waxed well would help in removing them.

Glue 10 bats to your bumper. They'll be your friends for life.

Tailgate a semi? (no, don't do that)

Invention idea: Make semi tacky, clear, removable plastic strips that cover your bumer like they have for face shields on Indy Car helmets.

I don't think there's anything out there to keep them from becoming one with your truck. I think your best bet is making it easy to remove them. Wax, Bug/Tar remover, WD all good ideas....

Wax the front of the hood, bumper, mirrors, etc. after every wash. That's what I do during love bug season. It makes them much easier to wash off.

I put a synthetic protectant on my truck (zaino) and ever since the bugs seem to come off really easy with just a wash mit and soapy water. I do try to clean them off about once a week so that they dont have too much time to dry out. I'm sure a normal wax would do the same thing but I bet after scrubbing on the paint once or twice to get the bugs off the wax would basically be gone and you would have to rewax. Also if you use any kind of bug remover or wd40 this would also strip the wax and you would need to wax again whereas the zaino bonds with the paint and wont strip off nearly as much...

NOW, That's the kind of answer I was looking for. Thanks a bunch, Florida.

OLD thread...

UPDATE

I rwad somewhere that drier sheets (the doo-hickies you use in the drier) takes em right off.

Well, I busted down last weekend, and gave it a shot.

THEY WORK GREAT !

No scrubbing, and those lil suckers come right off.

***just thought I'd share***

Jamz,

Just move north. There are no bugs, at least not for 7 month out of the year.

But we do have snards..

Sled...
