New Tires on Stock Rims

New Tires on Stock Rims
I currently have a '03 Screw 4x4 with 265/75R16 tires. Does anyone know what is the largest and widest tire I can fit on 16" rims? I'm going to be installing a 2" tuff country suspension lift. It recomends 33x12.50 tires, but was wondering if I can go any bigger.
Tires I'm looking at are Baja MTZ Radials possibly 285/75R16 or 305/70R16's... Maybe larger???

correct me if i'm wrong but the 285/75R16s aren't quite even a 33 inch tire. if you're bumping up your height by 2 inches you should be able to clear 35's no problem, but i would keep in mind your gear ratio, engine size, towing needs, etc. before slapping big rubber on. i have 32.75 inch tires on my truck and i wouldn't want any larger without gears or a supercharger or something of the sort. the 285's will look sweet with a stock ride height or your torsion bars cranked.

I agree. No need to pay for a kit that allows you to be able to do something that you can do for free. I believe the best looking combo on a leveled 4x4 is a 305/70-16 (33x12.50) on a 16x10 inch wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing. YOu can also fit 285/75-16 (33x11.50) or 295/75-16 (34x12.00).

Correct those are the keys. I tought it wasn't good to crank the torsion bars and that these were a better option. If it really dosen't make a difference then yes I'll crank'em up to save the money...

if you have anymore questions on this issue just ask, once you get the picture in your head on how torsion based suspensions work you will understand why reindexed keys dont help anything!
all those sizes will fit the stock wheel. id personally go with the 34x12.00 (295/75-16) that will be a good fit on stock wheels

Thanks. I've already cranked the torsion bars, but not sure if I'm going to go w/new rims or just throw new tires on the stock ones.
