The ONLY newer body style long bed I've seen around my area was a green extended cab long bed. I thought that was kind of rare. I didn't catch what trim it was, it kind of snuck up on me.

The only 8' bed trucks I see around here are white XL's
I've only seen 2 extended cab 8' bed trucks in the new style though. What looked like an XLT driving down the opposite lane of the freeway and a bare bones XL sitting behind the dealer.
I bet the extended cab 8' bed trucks really cut into the Super Duty market. Would be a great truck with the heavy payload package.

The F150's in any configuration are not cutting sales of super duty's. Payload is just not comparable. Especially on the longer wheelbase models. Plus from a sheer cost standpoint, when I was looking at buying a F150 supercrew with heavy duty payload package and 6.5' bed, at the time I could get a F250 crew cab 8' bed for cheaper... (with gas engine)
Just checked and a 2wd F150 ext cab, 8ft bed, XLT, 3.5 eco boost, 3.55 locker, max trailer package is $38K. 2950 payload, 11,900 towing. Add a couple more options and it will be low 40s.
Its going to drive better and be cheaper to run compared to a superduty. Also, way cheaper to buy.

So get an XL. When I was looking, super duty's, albeit in XL trim, were dirt cheap, relatively speaking. Even Crew Cabs. It was end of model year (2015) and that probably played into it a little.
