Rubber cowling trim below windshield- 2006
The rubber pieces between the windshield cowling and the front fenders cracked and fell apart on my 2006. I went to the dealer and they told me thy don't sell just the rubber trim pieces. Its $190 for one side and $160 for the other cowling pieces! I thought he was joking.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket trim piece that would fit? If not it looks like a tube of black RTV should make a good substitute.

a search would of turned up results where this is already discussed. you can either order through tasca which i believe i paid 130 for both sides, or you can go the street scene way which is a smooth fiberglass piece and was around the same price but in one write up there was a little bit of modification needed and of course, it will need to be painted. theres a member that goes by Stealth on here and he has pictures in one of the threads of the street scene piece. might want to look him up and ask him questions...

the street scene wiper cowl is not as well designed as the OEM stuff, but in the long run is definitely much better. i myself have it and need to finish doing minor details to the cowl (hood hinges ride it up). it's worth the price to buy the SS cowl instead of buying OEM when in a couple years the same problem will come up about the rubber pieces

One other option is the wrecking yard. I looked at several wrecked F150s and picked the ones in the best shape. If you go this route make sure you pull them off yourself. Even in good shape they are very delicate. A small flat blade mechanical screwdriver will help get them off without damage. I think I paid $10 each and they look like new.
